Description

The NEW and IMPROVED Desert Storage tower includes a base for the structure. The base has a large cutout for wiring/batteries/switches because the Storage Tower base has external cutouts for LEDs! Yes, hobbyists go crazy and turn this thing into a super cool terrain piece for you wargaming table.

The Desert Tower, is a new piece of terrain to enhance your recreation of your favorite sci-fi battles. The tower has a removable dome roof, a sliding top loading door in the front, and built in scatter terrain around the base. We have significantly updated the bundle which now includes:

  • Desert Tower Base V1
  • Desert Tower Base Roof V1
  • Desert Tower Base V2 w/Decay
  • Desert Tower Roof V2
  • Desert Storage Tower V1/V2 (NEW)

Totally Worth It

If you're on the fence these are absolutley worth it.
The models are very well done and honestly look better when printed than the 3d renders. They're ready to print with the only adjustments I had to make were due to my printers small build volume (10cmx10cm). They make the game board look great and feel a lot more like a galaxy far far away than just having some random rocks. Great as a project to get into terrain painting as well. Would recommend, probably going to buy more stuff from them.

Fantastic Model

I loved printing this as one of my first major terrain prints. The top is whole and i do wish it was hollow to save filament, but the extra weight definitely helps in game. I dont regret buying this STL at all, but i definitely recommend.

Great model, but could use some adjustments.

The model is very cool. Lots of character. Be warned, the larger tops are solid pieces. Even with 5% infill it takes a lot of filament and over a day to print.

Some of the Roofs do take longer to print, but that is of course due to their size. There are multiple parameters at play when it comes to calculating print time. As you pointed out Infill is one, but so is layer height, number of perimeters and your printers print speed. You cant blame the models themselves for a long print time as the variance from printer to printer can be great.

Great terrain

Use these towers for Legion. Great prints and scale nice with the game. Only the base is a little too large for my i3 mega (have not read the description before. So my fault). But you do not need it and if you really want the base, cut it in two pieces ;)

Desert Towers

I grabbed these up during our crazy Covid times. I printed the LED version 2 clean and the prints came out very well!
The base was a little wider than my Ender 3 bed size, but that was easy, I just spit the model in half and printed.
The size is nice and the piece will go well with either my Tatooine Legion board, or my Cochin Industrial board. I am looking forward to running the LEDs and lighting this piece up.
